STUDENT GOVERNMENT ELECTIONS

Our writing focus in Week 3 has been persuasive writing.  We have been learning what we need in a persuasive speech when putting ourselves forward for one of these responsibilities:

1. Student Government       2. House Captain     3. Little Kauri leadership programme

Our success criteria for writing our speeches:

Capture audience attention with an opening line that grabs their attention

Promote myself – use my name and let the audience know a little about me

Reasons why I am the best person for the job

Convincing words

Here are some of the speech videos from Room 22.  Congratulations to Gabrielle, Kavita, Mikayla, Anika, Kalei, Kier, Keira and Romy for presenting their speeches.  Good wishes for the election. We will know next week who the successful 5 students are from the 28 that stood for election. The quality of the videos is not very good - we will be learning later this term how to successfully take video's!
