Learning Pit

This week we looked at the Learning Pit.   This is how we grow as learners and how we take on the challenges of learning.  We all find ourselves in the pit when we are faced with learning that we find hard. The challenge is to find ways to climb out of the pit - to master the learning and to know that it is okay to be challenged - we only learn when this happens. If we can jump over the pit then we are not learning.  Its okay to make mistakes.

The individual learning pit posters in Room 22 are brilliant!  Photos of them all will be on the student blogs - have a look - Room 22 are learners!

WHATU POKEKA

A Whatu Pokeka is the blanket we wrap around our children to give them comfort and security.

This week, Room 21 and 22 completed their Whatu Pokeka, We talked about how we belong at Forrest Hill School - not just because we all wear the same uniform but for many other reasons, like the friends we have, the sports teams we belong to and the teachers we have made a connection with.  These are our green feathers.  The yellow feathers are how we feel valued - friends who listen to us, being able to learn what we are interested in,  and many other ways that are all now part of Room 22's Whatu Pokeka. .
