Week 8/9/10 Term 1
IALT draw using the grid draw technique

Remember to:
  •      Use co ordinates
  •      Draw one box at a time
  •      Look at the size and shape within each box to copy accurately
  •      Look for the detail to copy in each square
  •      Have the same size grid paper to copy onto

Where in the World?

Our journey around the world has continued this week.  Lines of latitude and longitude were useful for locating the countries on the map as we learnt how to create a key and write a fact file.  So far we have asked questions to find out information about Denmark, Philippines, South Korea, China, Taiwan, India, Romania, Japan and Samoa.

Anika's mum made a Romanian cake for us to try. Our reaction .... YUM!  Thank you Anika's mum!

LOGO

Through Google Classroom, Room 22 have had two assignments over the past 10 days. The first was home learning to explore Turtle Academy    https://turtleacademy.com/      This was learning how to programme a turtle to move around in certain shapes and directions.

Basic commands we learnt

Forward              fd
Backward           bk
Pen up                pu
Pen down           pd
hide turtle           ht
show turtle         st
right turn            rt
left turn              lt
clear screen        cs

The second assignment used Terrapin to apply the learning.  We had to programme the turtle to make 5 shapes, use jing to capture the image on our screen, then insert on to a slide as evidence of our learning.

We will have a link to our individual slides on our blogs once we have completed this assignment in Week 8 of Term 1.
